Stonegate originated as a development company in 1953. Beginning in 1953 under the leadership of George A. Moser, Sr. a Chicago police officer¡Xturned apartment builder, The family of Stonegate Companies have developed into a full-service real estate firm involved in adviceing their clients in development, construction, leasing and management of residential, commercial, retail, office and industrial properties throughout the northern Illinois region.
George A. Moser took over where his father left off nearly 40 years ago, developing and selling apartment buildings on Chicago¡¦s northwest side. Within just a few years, the second-generation Moser family had expanded the family business substantially: in 1996, George A. Moser actually chartered the town of Buffalo Grove with the State of Illinois.
The family of Stonegate Companies is now headquartered at Northwest Corporate Centre, 400 Northwest Corporate Centre, 2500 West Higgins Road, Hoffman Estates, Illinois.
A commitment to improving quality of life in the Chicagoland region is a hallmark of the Stonegate philosophy. To that end, Stonegate executives actively pursue public/private partnerships to bring new facilities and resources to the region. Working with county, municipal and village leaders, Stonegate has successfully pursued establishment of TIF districts in a number of suburbs, enabling local governments to maximize revenues and attract much-needed commercial developments.
