This is a highly profitable soda and snack vending business with top producing accounts and a well-laid-out route. This is a one-man business and all financial figures are calculated with the owner servicing the accounts himself. The vending route consists of 58 vending accounts with a total of 137 vending machines. The route is condensed primarily in the Watsonville area with another 8 accounts in Hollister. 83 of the vending machines are soda machines that are on an ongoing ‘free lease’ loan program to the owner from Coke or Pepsi. This is an excellent arrangement for the new owner because it is a common practice for Coke and Pepsi to continue the loan of the machines to the new owner as well as providing additional machines for new accounts. This arrangement helps the owner to grow the business more easily because there is no financial outlay for new soda machines when new accounts are obtained. Some years ago when this route was put together, the original owner focused on obtaining locations with many employees and therefore, much more product is sold at each location. The prices charged for products are on the high end. The combination of bigger accounts, top-end prices, and the condensed route enables the owner to make top dollar per hour of work. The route takes approximately 32 hours of work per week in the winter and 40 hours per week in the summer. Product and money in the machines are not included in the price. Ample training, future consultation, and a covenant to not compete are included in the price as well as the name of the business, if desired..
