Introduction
I'm Dr. King McCray — a financial strategist, M&A advisor, published author, and the Executive Vice President of Sundial Brokerage.
Over the last decade, I've advised on more than $1.21 billion in M&A transactions, guiding owners and acquirers through the kind of deals that define a career and a legacy. Alongside that advisory work, I lead a wealth management firm overseeing more than $2.47 billion in client assets — a vantage point that shapes how I think about value, risk, and what a business is truly worth at the table.
I hold a PhD in Economics, an MBA in Finance, along with the Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) and Behavioral Financial Advisor (BFA™) designations. I'm a 5x founder, having built ventures across wealth management, M&A advisory, and financial consulting, and the author of multiple books on building and protecting wealth. But credentials and track record are only half the story. What I bring to every engagement is a conviction that a business sale isn't just a transaction — it's often the single largest financial event in an owner's life, the payoff for years of risk and sacrifice.
My approach pairs institutional financial rigor with a genuinely owner-first mindset.
