About the Company

We're Austin's premier boutique business brokerage since 1996.

Founder Clarence Griggs holds the Board Certified Broker (BCB) designation from the Texas Association of Business Brokers (TABB). He is a past president of TABB and continues to participate in advanced continuing education programs.

Griggs Business Brokers has worked on the most intricate of business transitions, mergers and acquisitions and we recognize the importance of:

Identifying the goals and motivations of the business owner.
Providing an “Opinion of Value” to help the business owner in their decision-making process.
Informing the business owner of the many steps required to successfully sell their business.
Vetting a buyer to determine if they are a good “fit” for your business.

Services Provided

Since 1993, I’ve created, operated, and successfully exited more than four different business enterprises, totaling 13 individual locations across multiple industries. In each of these ventures, I personally acted as the business broker—managing the valuation, marketing, negotiations, and final sale. Over the years, I’ve also helped family and friends navigate their own business transitions, building a deep understanding of how to maximize value and minimize stress through every phase of the process.
Now, I’m offering those same skills and insights to the general public. As an entrepreneur who’s lived the full life cycle of business ownership—from the early challenges of start-up to the complexity of exit—I bring firsthand experience that most brokers simply can’t match. I understand the emotional and operational weight owners carry, especially those who have devoted decades to building their businesses.
Selling a business is not a passive event—it’s a demanding process that requires time, focus, and the ability to stay strategic under pressure. Too often, owners underestimate the effort required and risk allowing their business performance to slip at the most critical moment. That’s where I come in. I manage the heavy lifting: prospecting qualified buyers, evaluating offers, verifying financial capacity, and guiding negotiations to a successful close.
The trend is your friend—momentum matters when selling. My goal is to ensure that your business continues to perform while I direct the sales process, helping you achieve maximum value without losing focus on day-to-day operations. Let me handle the details so you can stay focused on what you do best—running your business. That’s the proven path to getting top dollar for your life’s work.
