Introduction

I didn't just work in the outdoor industry — I grew up in it, literally.
My mother served as Executive Director of Eastern Outdoor Sales Reps (now 360 Adventure Collective) for over 20 years, and my father was a founding member of that organization and an independent sales rep in the outdoor industry since the late 1970s. Brands, retailers, trade shows, and rep agencies weren't concepts I learned in business school — they were dinner table conversation.
For over 15 years I carried that forward as an independent sales rep myself, representing brands like Columbia Sportswear, Teva, Merrell, and Wolverine to specialty retailers — fly shops, outdoor stores, and active lifestyle businesses across the Southeast. I knew their owners, understood their margins, and watched what made some thrive and others struggle.
That background is why I do what I do today. When a fly shop owner calls me about selling their business, I'm not googling the industry. I already know it.
I became a business broker because I have a deep commitment to this industry — to keeping these brands and stores alive and preserving the communities they serve. These aren't just transactions to me. They're businesses worth protecting.
