About the Company

Leading Edge Business Brokers was founded by Dana Jennings in 2017 after a diverse background in owning, operating, building, buying, and selling businesses.

After a long exhausting search for a broker that Dana was comfortable with when it was time for his last exit, he realized what his next professional path was leading too. The non-responsiveness, the lack of business experience, and the lack of personality were all issues that he ran into when searching for a broker. So he made it his personal mission, to provide the best level of service out of any broker in the area by using his skillsets that were developed throughout his time as a United States Marine, a Firefighter/EMT, and owning and operating many businesses in many different arena's. His experience extends from service-based businesses, to retail, ecommerce, SaaS, and many others. Within those businesses, he experienced acquisitions, exits, scaling, start-up and just about any challenge that you can run into when operating a business.

Broker Biography

Introduction

Dana founded Leading Edge Business Brokers with a wealth of business expertise and has proven himself valuable in the mergers and acquisitions and brokerage world.

Before opening the doors to Leading Edge, Dana served 4.5 years in the United States Marine Corps as an MP. He then became a full time firefighter in his hometown, but experienced a career ending injury. Beginning shortly after getting out of the Marine Corps, Dana began his entrepreneurial journey, where he owned and operated a franchised disaster restoration company where he substantially built revenue, and successfully executed an exit strategy. Dana also owned multiple car washes, ecommerce stores, 2 fitness centers, and a portfolio of real estate that varies from vacation condos, long term rental townhomes, building new residential homes and buying and selling homes after remodel for profit. Dana was a franchise consultant for large franchisor, and assisted in getting a software company start-up off the ground.

So needless to say, Dana is well seasoned in the business world, and felt like he could serve others best in the brokerage realm. When Dana isn’t working, you’ll find him spending time with his wife, Kari, and son, Isaac, and typically coaching his son's soccer team, or just enjoying family time together fishing and boating in their favorite place, Bull Shoals AR.

Absentee Licensed Childcare Center + Real Estate

Well-established, licensed childcare center and preschool in Southern Indiana, offered together with its owned real estate. The center has served the same community for more than three decades and cares for children from infancy through pre-kindergarten across eight age-graded classrooms, open year-round.The business runs on an absentee basis: an on-site director manages day-to-day operations while ownership contributes only about one hour per week. It is supported by a tenured, credentialed team of roughly 20 staff. Revenue is recurring weekly tuition, funded by a mix of private-pay families and state childcare-subsidy vouchers, and supplemented by federal food-program reimbursements. The state recently increased the center's licensed capacity, creating immediate room to grow enrollment against a largely fixed cost base, a clear, day-one value-add for a new

Bookkeeping, Payroll & Tax Practice (EA, Non-CPA), ~$1.2M SDE

This is a rare opportunity to acquire a 40-year-old bookkeeping, payroll, and tax practice in the Southeast with financial performance that speaks for itself: $1.5M in 2025 revenue, approximately $1.2M in adjusted EBITDA, and roughly 98% annual client retention.Importantly for buyers, this is an Enrolled Agent practice, not a CPA firm. The EA credential itself is exam-based with no degree requirement, so a buyer can build licensed capacity internally rather than hire into the constrained CPA market. A second-generation successor is already in the business. The practice serves 100+ closely held business clients on flat monthly retainers covering bookkeeping and payroll, with tax preparation for the businesses and their owners layered on top. Roughly $1M of revenue is recurring monthly billing. Client relationships span decades, and losses average only two to three clients per year, typically a business closing rather than a

Profitable Custom Furniture Manufacturer and Reupholstering

Here's something rare: a specialty manufacturing business with a 30-year reputation so strong that customers come to it. No ad budget. No salespeople chasing leads. Revenue comes through word-of-mouth and repeat relationships built over three decades. The company designs and builds custom furniture and provides high-end reupholstery and restoration work. Its customers aren't bargain-hunters. They're respected architecture and design firms, major law firms, universities, hospitals, and well-known corporate names that care about quality and keep coming back. That kind of client list takes decades to earn and is very hard for a competitor to copy. The business runs on strong profit margins and owns very little equipment, so more of what comes in stays as profit. It operates from a leased facility, so a buyer steps in without a real estate purchase. The current owners built this from the ground up and are planning for retirement.
