Introduction

Brad Kaplan is Vice President of Maine Business Brokers. He has a thirty year track record as a business intermediary, handling valuation and sales of larger businesses. Brad was co-founder of Mathurin & Kaplan, a mid-market mergers and acquisitions firm in Portland for twenty years.

He is a licensed real estate broker in Maine and New Hampshire, obtained a B.S. degree in Finance from the University of Massachusetts and his M.B.A. from Bryant College in Rhode Island. His additional background in commercial bank lending gives him an in-depth understanding of business valuation and business transfer issues of closely held family businesses.     Mike McCann is an Associate Broker with a background in operations and go-to-market functions. He co-founded, scaled, and ultimately sold a leading regional Salesforce consultancy. Most recently, Mike was a practice leader for a global technology consulting firm, where he advised state governments and enterprise organizations. He began his career in defense contracting overseas. Mike is a strong advocate for his clients, approaching his engagements with creativity drawn from his first-hand exposure to many industries. Having personally experienced the process of selling his own business positions him as an ideal partner to guide business owners through their own successful transitions. Mike holds a BA from the University of Notre Dame and an MBA from the University of New Hampshire. He lives in Portsmouth, New Hampshire with his wife and two children.

    Lee Edwards is an Associate Broker with Maine Business Brokers. She joined the company in 1998 as its Operations Director. After 12 years in this position she returned to work as a broker again. She is also the executive editor for the business offering summaries we prepare for our seller clients and handles the Internet marketing of our businesses. Lee has a B.A. in Economics from Bates College in Lewiston, Maine. She has a diverse management career with an in-depth understanding of business operations.     Josh Saunders is an Associate Broker with a background in operations and executive level management. Josh previously served as Criterium Engineers’ Senior Operations Director, where his focus was on execution, particularly in those areas which support the firm's client facing activities and personnel; thereby ensuring the highest level of client value and satisfaction, as well as to identify opportunities and means to continuously improve operational efficiency. Josh worked as a Certified Business Counselor with the Maine Small Business Development Center (SBDC) as part of limited time, grant funded effort to increase Maine SBDC's profile and economic impact within the Greater Portland area. In the position for less than two years, Josh logged more than 850 hours in direct support of 99 clients, 22 of whom collectively started 14 business, saved or retained 149 jobs and generated more than $2,750,000 in capital for business related purposes. Josh has also served as: a) President of Saunders Brothers, Inc., a manufacturer of wood products with a 100 year history, 4 manufacturing operations and 5 distribution divisions, and 200 plus employees; and b) Sales Manager for Keiser Homes, a modular home manufacturer in Oxford, Maine, where he played a major role in the company’s efforts to lead the industry in building energy-efficient and sustainable homes. Josh received his AB in Engineering from Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH and his MBA from the University of Southern Maine in Portland. Josh loves to ski, having learned to do so at the age of 3, at the end of a dog leash, and is very happy that his two children are now learning to ski as well, as he will have a valid excuse to ski on a more regular basis. Josh, his wife and their two children live in Cumberland, Maine.
