About the Company
When founding partners Tom Bronson, Jeremy Furtick and John Gorbutt launched NorthStar Mergers & Acquisitions, their collective goal was simple, albeit lofty – create a unique M&A advisory service that did not currently exist in the marketplace, but was desperately needed. After months of brainstorming, researching and planning, NorthStar was born and began working with the owners of privately-held companies in the lower-middle market.
While the core function of NorthStar is not unique – assisting business owners with the sales of their companies – what is unique are the processes, methods and motivations the founders utilized to create NorthStar’s proprietary offering.
At first glance, NorthStar’s process appears simple – as it should. The major steps of selling a privately-held business are not difficult to grasp or understand. However, it’s what goes on within those three basic stages of the process that make or break successful transactions and allow business owners to realize their dream exits. That’s where NorthStar has poured an enormous amount of time, money and first-hand experience into developing a proprietary business listing and sales system called the NorthStar Transaction Navigator. TransNav helps ensure NorthStar’s clients are able to sell their businesses for the highest possible price, in the shortest amount of time, with the fewest number of surprises, while NorthStar maintains a vigilant commitment to the owner’s objectives. TransNav comprises three essential elements:
1. Business Assessment & Market Valuation Analysis
2. Marketing Promotion & Buyer Management
3. Due Diligence Oversight & Closing Coordination
Broker Biography
Areas Served
For the past 18 years, Jeremy has grown into one of the most trusted business transactions advisors in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. His unique combination of education, creativity and experience, along with a straight-forward and meticulous personality, have all been keys to his success. As a founding partner of NorthStar Mergers & Acquisitions, Jeremy is using those hard-earned skills to help build the premier M&A organization in the State of Texas. Prior to his previous firm ending its franchise relationship with VR and becoming an independent firm, Jeremy became one of the most decorated and successful agents in the 35-year history of that national franchise. Starting in 2007, his first full year with the business, Jeremy was named VR's No.1 worldwide agent – the first “rookie” to achieve this prestigious feat in franchise history. He finished No.1 a second time in 2013, becoming the franchise’s first repeat winner, and again claimed the top spot in 2014. Building on the unique responsibilities Jeremy undertook at his previous firm, and the skills and insights he gleaned from that experience, Jeremy saw an opportunity to redefine what the term "M&A Advisor" means in the marketplace. That perspective and desire is what motivated him to join forces with his partners and found a new firm – one that has the vision, the team, the experience and the resources to create an entirely new kiind of M&A firm. Jeremy graduated with a B.S. in journalism and a marketing minor from Texas A&M University, and is a proud member of the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Class of ’97. After joining KRLD NewsRadio 1080 and the Texas Rangers Radio Network after graduation, Jeremy quickly moved into advertising sales and became the non-traditional revenue manager at the station. Recognizing that he needed a more formal business education while at KRLD, Jeremy pursued an MBA from The University of Texas at Dallas, receiving that degree in 2003. Jeremy’s DFW roots date back nearly 150 years, when his family settled in the Dallas area – and he hasn’t gone far! He resides in Collin County with his wife, Sara, and their two incredible daughters, where they attend First United Methodist Church Richardson.
