Introduction
Sheriff was born in Cairo, Egypt but was raised in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. The eldest of four sons, Sheriff was a precocious child, accomplished athlete and model student who grew up aspiring to a degree in medicine. In college, Sheriff’s career aspirations shifted from medicine to law, a field more suited to his outgoing, vivacious personality. After receiving his law degree from Detroit College of law, he moved to Florida and began his real estate career. Sheriff opened up his own real estate firm and was affiliated with Prudential Real Estate Affiliates for over 30 years as the only franchisee in Volusia County. Sheriff has had a remarkable career in both residential and commercial real estate. He brokered the first million-dollar-plus home sale back in the 1980’s and has continued compiling a resume which includes two home sales in excess of $5 million each and over 30 residential transactions in excess of one million dollars. The waterfront property in the greater Daytona Beach area is peppered with homes and commercial projects Sheriff has facilitated the purchase and/or sale of.
Commercial transactions of note include a Publix Shopping Center, a Fresh Market shopping center, land sales in excess 22 million, and the acquisition of 14 homes raised to make way for the building of the Ocean Center Parking Garage. Two of his signature commercial transactions include the brokering of the original Daytona Auto Mall and the Destination Daytona Harley Davidson Dealership.
At the end of 2016, Sheriff’s Prudential Transact Realty Firm merged with Realty Pros Assured. He and his associated are now firmly entrenched members of the RPA family.
Despite the ups and downs of real estate, Sheriff loves his chosen profession as much today as the day he first began. He relishes meeting new people and has many long-term friendships that were born out of professional interactions.
Sheriff remains close with his three younger brothers as well as his mother who lives locally and delights in bossing him around and spoiling him in equal measure. Sheriff has two children, daughter Kristen and son Sami, whom he considers to be the greatest achievements of his life.
