Oilfield Technology IP Acquisition - U.S. Utility Patent Pending
Asset Sale Description
Asset Sale - Oilfield Technology IP Acquisition
Brine Line™ is a U.S. utility patent-pending oilfield measurement technology designed to modernize water detection during tank gauging operations. This IP acquisition opportunity gives a strategic buyer the ability to commercialize a reusable water-detection coating concept aimed at replacing the traditional disposable water-finding paste workflow used across oil and gas field operations.
Technology Overview:
Traditional tank gauging often requires applying disposable water-finding paste to a gauge line, lowering the line into the tank, waiting for a reaction, reading the color change, cleaning the paste off, and repeating the process at the next tank. The process works, but it is messy, repetitive, wasteful, and outdated.
Brine Line™ is designed to replace that paste-based workflow with a reusable visual water-contact coating applied directly to gauge lines and related manual fluid measurement tools. When the coated section contacts water, it produces a visible color response at the water-contact point. After removal and drying, the coating is designed to return toward its original state for repeated use.
Brine Line™ has demonstrated visible real-time water detection in controlled proof-of-concept trials, validating the core technology concept.
Intellectual Property Assets:
* U.S. Utility Patent Pending, Application No. 19/693,439, filed May 30, 2026
* Prior provisional filing history
* Brine Line™ brand and domain assets
* Proof-of-concept testing history
* Product concept materials
* High-level research and development materials
* Market positioning and buyer materials
Commercial Opportunity:
Brine Line™ targets oilfield tank gauging and fluid measurement workflows where disposable water-detection paste has remained the standard method for decades. The reusable coating concept offers potential operational efficiency, reduced mess, reduced consumable waste, and a premium upgrade path for gauge line manufacturers, oilfield equipment companies, and supply-channel partners.
Buyer Profile:
Ideal buyers/licensees include established oilfield equipment companies, gauge line manufacturers, measurement equipment manufacturers, industrial coating companies, chemical technology firms, oilfield supply distributors, or strategic investors with access to R&D, formulation, manufacturing, and commercialization resources.
Transition Support:
Seller will provide reasonable transition support, including product background, field-use explanation, oilfield workflow education, proof-of-concept history, market positioning guidance, and relevant buyer handoff materials. Final formulation refinement, durability testing, manufacturing setup, field validation, and commercial scale-up would be handled by the buyer or buyer’s technical partners.
Note:
This is an early-stage IP and technology asset sale, not an operating cash-flow business. The technology is patent pending and remains subject to USPTO examination. No issued patent, final commercial formulation, revenue, or market adoption is guaranteed.
Asking Price:
$1,500,000 for full IP acquisition.
Location:
Texas
Established:
2025
