C. David Chambless 404.6274454

Introduction

Prior to joining Abraxas Business Services, Mr. Chambless was Director of Technology at C=WIN, Inc. At C=WIN, he led an engineering and technical-sales group responsible for the design and development of data-networking solutions and the sale and deployment of these and internet-based applications internationally. During his tenure there, he led an engineering team that achieved a first-in-the-world accomplishment when it implemented a wireless network (IEEE 802.11b) providing Internet access to a moving railway car. This accomplishment was widely heralded in trade publications. Further, the project was specifically mentioned in an address by the Minister of Railways of India to the national legislature of India, as an example of the initiatives of the Ministers administration.

Prior to his position with C=WIN, Mr. Chambless was the North American Vice President of Sales for the Integration Services Group of PsionTeklogix, an international wireless data communications solutions provider. Also, Mr. Chambless has been responsible for global software alliances for QAD, Inc., a leading vendor of ERP solutions. He had a similar position with The CODA Group, PLC, a financial-applications provider based in the United Kingdom. These experiences gave Mr. Chambless a deep understanding of transnational channels and the issues involved in international business and inbound (to USA) investment.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Chambless served as chief financial officer for Aaron Rents, Inc., a publicly traded furniture and furnishings company, and for Docutronics, Inc., a start-up technology company. At the beginning of his professional career, he spent seven years as a management consultant for Touche Ross. Prior to graduate school, Mr. Chambless commanded components of a U.S. Army Pershing Missile unit in West Germany.

Mr. Chambless has a Master of Business Administration in Finance degree from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Industrial and Systems Engineering degree from Georgia Tech. In 1982, he became a Certified Public Accountant.

Mr. Chambless is very active in his communities. He is a member of BENS (Business Executives for National Security), the Association for Corporate Growth, and the International Business Brokers Association. He is the immediate past-president of the Georgia Association of Business Brokers, where he has been a long-time member of the board of directors as well as a (lifetime) multi-million-dollar member of the Million Dollar Club. In his involvement with the Technology Association of Georgia, he has served as a member of the TAG board of directors and its executive committee as well as the chairman of TAG's Leadership Council; he was a founder and the chairman of TAG-FinTech; and, he was chairman of TAG-Finance for seven years. And, he has served on the boards of directors for the Grant Park Conservancy and the Southeast Atlanta Business Association (where he is Director Emeritus).
