Clear Path has extensive experience with both brokerage and direct ownership and management of several companies in Western North Carolina. DANA SMITH has 35+ years experience as a business owner and broker in the southeast US. He has owned and operated a mechanical contracting company, a multi location ice cream shop as well as a commercial lines insurance agency. Dana currently owns a bowling/family entertainment/bar and grill in Brevard, NC, a multi location fudge and chocolate shop and is involved with a real estate development company in western NC.?
Dana has served on several boards and civic/business groups, including the Bryson City Rotary Club as president, the Swain County community foundation, Jackson County, NC chamber board member and ambassador, chairman of the Sylva NC Main St Association, Chairman of the Independent Insurance Agents of GA. Govt. affairs committee among many others. ?
Dana is a true entrepreneur who has assisted dozens of buyers and sellers acquire or divest businesses. The most recent transactions include a themed motorcycle lodge and restaurant, a historic lodge and several restaurants in Western NC.
He has extensive experience in marketing, business valuation and consulting for owners.
DON REYNOLDS has worked across a variety of hospitality enterprises, from a perspective of accounting and operations. Reynolds has experience both as principal, executive and consultant in the industry. This level of experience gives him the ability to analyze a business, and it's operations from a 360 degree view and help discover it's true market value.
Prior to co-founding Clear Path Business Brokers, Mr. Reynolds has served as Controller, Comptroller, COO, CEO, as well as "starting up" a broad range of hospitality companies, some exceeding 50m in top line sales.
Most recently Mr. Reynolds was engaged as a consultant and became Managing Partner, with Mountain Fresh Grocery, located in Highlands, NC. A successful turn around and exit for the partners concluded in April 2018. Mr. Reynolds holds a BA in Accounting
