Fred L. Walker (CMAI, CBI, SBA, CMEA), the President of Business Brokers of Virginia, has a long and successful career in the business brokerage industry.
Using his background as a Business and Tax Consultant Fred transitioned smoothly into the brokerage of small to medium businesses enjoying the main street and small town flavor of those businesses. He has evaluated and sold over 200 businesses and specializes in the service, distribution and manufacturing industries. He has reviewed and appraised on a preliminary basis over 300 businesses for marketing purposes and performs appraisals for the sale or purchase of a business as well as for owner exit planning.
He has over 30 years experience as a Business Intermediary and holds many certifications. Fred continues to keep himself current in his field by attending numerous advanced real estate courses in appraising, sales, exchanging and other subjects in business, tax consulting, marketing and promotion.
Prior to becoming a Business Intermediary, Fred was a Business and Tax Consultant for General Business Services, the largest small business and tax consulting company in the United States. He worked with over 250 businesses in this capacity and was the recipient of the GBS Certificate of Excellence and Constant Counselor Awards. In addition, Fred prepared and presented Business Seminars for the Small Business Administration (SBA) and a national retail magazine.
Fred received a B.S.F.S. degree with a major in Foreign Trade and International Transportation and with a minor in International Affairs from Georgetown University.
