Introduction
Don Pippin, Jr. MCBI, M&AMI, CM&AP, and CMSBB, owns the Sunbelt Business Brokers office covering Lafayette, LA, Lake Charles, LA, and Southeast Texas Beaumont. With a wealth of personal experience, Don has made significant contributions to the business landscape in South Louisiana and Southeast Texas, particularly in real estate development and franchise acquisitions.
Don's expertise spans various business facets, from marketing to mergers and divestitures. In 1989, he acquired ComputerLand, an IT solutions franchise specializing in professional networking, software integration, and training services for businesses and prominent petrochemical facilities in Southeast Texas. His outstanding performance led to recognition as a top Franchisee within the ComputerLand system in 1991.
As a founding partner of EmStat, Don played a pivotal role in developing a comprehensive Hospital Emergency Information System, successfully implementing it in over 75 hospitals nationwide. Similarly, his involvement in Justice Link, an electronic filing system connecting courts and law firms, led to national expansion, eventual merger with CourtLink, and acquisition by Lexis Nexis in 2002.
Beyond his ventures in technology and business solutions, Don diversified into real estate development across Louisiana, Texas, and Colorado starting in 1997. Don previously owned Fast Signs in Lafayette, Baton Rouge, and Beaumont, TX, consistently ranking among the top 10% of all 650+ Fast Signs locations. Notably, he recently divested local retail franchises Once Upon A Child and Clothes Mentor.
Active in the community, Don has served on the Lafayette Better Business Bureau board as board chairman. Outside of work, he finds joy in pursuits such as fishing, aviation, and outdoor activities.
