VR is one of the oldest and largest business sales organizations in the U.S., with offices across the country and around the world. The Springfield-Branson office of VR Business Sales serves central, western, and southern Missouri.
We charge no up-front fees to business owners thinking of selling their business, and invest the time and advertising dollars in marketing our businesses for sale out of our own pocket. Then, if we have been successful in assisting the business owner in realizing their goal of an ownership transition, we receive a success fee at the closing of the sale.
We charge no fees to buyers, unless they engage us to search for a business to purchase that is not currently on the market.
VR has sold more business in the world than anyone. TM
Bret McGowne, CBI (417) 581-8887
As a former business owner himself, Bret McGowne understands the concerns that buyers and sellers face. When dealing with the ownership transfer of privately held businesses and franchise re-sales, Bret is mindful of what is most important to his clients, and he takes the time to research and explain the details of every transaction.
Bret owned and managed the Springfield/Branson Renew Crew (formerly Wood Re New) franchise for more than ten years. He led the franchise system in sales every year, and was Franchisee of the Year in 2012. After selling his Renew Crew business, Bret was asked by the corporate office to serve as a business consultant for the Renew Crew franchise.
A native of the Ozarks, Bret holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics, both from Drury University, where he graduated Magna cum Laude. He is currently pursuing his Certified Business Intermediary (CBI) designation. Awarded by the International Business Brokers Association (IBBA), this designation is held by fewer than 500 individuals worldwide. The CBI designation is granted to IBBA members who have met rigorous requirements in education, industry knowledge and experience, ethical standards and continuing education. Bret plans to earn his designation in 2016.
Bret is also active in a number of civic groups including the North Springfield Betterment Association, Drury to Drury Alumni, Business Club of Springfield and the Springfield Chamber of Commerce.
