I'm fortunate to live in a small town, with no competition, and plenty of opportunities to provide fun memories! I have 5 kids that grew up helping run the "Family Business". We were busy every weekend during the summer season. Our community had summer Friday night concerts, county events (Rodeo, Science Fairs, Chamber Fests), school fundraisers and youth nights, church events, birthday parties, work parties, etc... We loved playing with the kids, seeing their excitement and joy, and getting to know the parents. We provided cash/credit cards/Venmo/apps to pay to play, as well as punch passes to share and use for multiple events. We were busy enough in our town, that we didn't adventure out too often, but did several times for bigger events (Family Reunions and Retreats). We are the only business in the state of New Mexico that has a Foam Pit - so it is a favorite! We loved working with Sponsors to make it free to the community, which always draws a bigger crowd. We were fortunate to live in a safe community where parents could leave their kids and enjoy the concerts, etc... I was different than most companies in that I set up, stay for the event to watch that kids and weather were safe, and then cleaned up. Most businesses require the customer to pick it up/set it up/run it/ clean it up/return it, or the business would set it up, leave, come back to clean up. I received a lower insurance payment by staying with it. It's fun to be a part of and to play with the kids. Adults are just big kids, so I had no problem letting them participate (just don't mix teens with kids, unless the teen/adult is assisting a child). I really enjoyed this business of fun! It is a lot of physical work, a bit stressful, and takes time to do things right. But the effort and fun is worth it! I enjoyed my winters off before the summer weekends!
