- Maryland requires a home improvement company to be licensed and insured. I have found we are in the middle for costs so emphasize our white glove service. Many licensed companies are more expensive and unlicensed companies are typically lower. Customers are not always aware that they may have no recourse if they have problems with an unlicensed and uninsured contractor. We stand behind our work and have quickly rectified concerns if they arise which has been appreciated by customers.
