- The mobile pet grooming market is a lucrative. Pet owners are constantly seeking in-home services so that pets do not have to travel, and can experience safe/relaxing grooming experiences. Weekend pet grooming, large size dogs, dogs with medical limitations, older pet owner's who need help transporting pets, working families who do not have time for 6 hr wait times at conventional groomers--- all of these subtypes actively seek out mobile grooming. Competition is limited in our service area-- many individuals who attempt to compete with us are unable to provide an actual enclosed structure to groom in (owners do not want hair/mess etc. within their home space). The service area per capita income is supportive to our grooming price point.

- I debated listing this business as a start-up because of the immense amount of potential here. I built this business up from scratch 3 years ago, while working full time as a veterinarian. We started with no clients-- and now boast a book of over 400. The business currently does not do weekend bookings-- although we receive requests for them frequently. We typically take Friday's off as well. There are certainly additional opportunities to expand the daily schedule, and our hours to include evening services. The current grooming assistant is almost complete with training- I feel confident that with 3 groomers in rotation- the business will be able to expand hours and client base. With our presence established with clientele- we receive leads for new bookings daily.
