Business Description
Up for sale is the beautiful and brilliant Firefly Wine Room. Elegantly placed on the corner of 46th and Hawthorne in one of the best neighborhoods in Portland, this handsome wine bar and music venue boasts an impressive wine menu, as well as delectable fare. Established regulars form a lovely community, and local musicians are booked months in advance. Talented staff may remain in place for the absentee owner, or may be supplementary to an owner-operator. As a space, the romantic ambiance entices the customer to linger deeply into their meetings, and check averages reflect the comfortable attitude of returning guests. The music community advertises the bar regularly through their own channels, and word of mouth (as well as stellar reviews) have been our only advertisement thus-far. Numerous events have brought a wide clientele, and this promises only to increase. Owner is motivated, as he is relocating to be near family after welcoming a child, and thus will finance. The prospective owner-operator could take ownership immediately with promissory note and verification to the landlord. Come by incognito and see the magnificent atmosphere, and picture yourself able to boast a wine bar of such stature which has already enchanted the neighborhood.

Facilities & Assets
GREAT illuminated signage, Parking lot, Kitchen, Bar area, Dining area, Fireplace, Stage, Restroom, Handwashing Sink,

The bar itself is a magnificent acrylic mosaic of vintage wine crates, both beautiful and sturdy. The kitchen includes simple but sturdy equipment which is easily cleaned, as well as lockers for storage.

Dining area includes tables made from antique ship doors and the tops of wine barrels, an array of hardwood chairs, and shelves made of recovered distressed klinker bricks. The gas fireplace displays Napoleonic swords crossed above the roaring hearth.

These assets combined with the inventory represent more than 40% of the asking price. An attractive rebate.

Sale also includes social media and website.
Market Outlook / Competition
Firefly Wine Room is located in the vaunted "Barmuda Triangle" of the Hawthorne neighborhood, providing both robust foot traffic and a dense high-end residential neighborhood. It remains the ONLY wine bar on the street, and thus keeps clientele of a specific type (i.e. not dive barflies).

The music community has heartily embraced firefly as a venue, and we are booked MONTHS in advance with a number of intriguing acts and characters. The musicians work for a 10% gratuity applied to sales during their sets.

Additionally, we have begun a popular trivia night on Tuesdays (a traditionally slow night for bars), and have begun a children's day every other Monday (for only 2 hours) which adds revenue as well.

Price is OBO, seller will finance.
Opportunities for Growth
The planned expansions are as follows, and will be either underway at time of sale, or can be detailed to new owner to improve the value of the business post-sale:

1. Expansion of Events - Though live music and trivia is already in place Tuesday-Saturday, the new events already taking several monthly slots of Sundays and Mondays will be added to in order to maximize revenue, as well as advertise. These include craft nights, Wine classes, and contests.

2. Outside Enclosure - It is within the possibilities of the establishment to create an outdoor seating area grander than the current setup, with the city's permission, which will capture a part of the street for use in sitting and dining, greatly expanding our area.

3. Advertisement - Firefly's success thus far has taken place without any advertisement, a wide customer base exists to be advertised to.

4. Expansion of hours - Firefly is only open 5 hours a night. As we expand, our hours shall as well to capture different demographics.
