Established 45 years with over 30 ponds farm was built by the state of Florida and Florida State University. Built in 1980 There are 4 wells on the property and only three are used. Our water permit allows us to draw 156 million gallons of water per year.

Conceived through a partnership between the University of Florida and the State of Florida, it was established as the Sam Mitchell Aquaculture Research & Development Center, built to advance aquaculture through research, education, and innovation.

Over the next four and a half decades, its mission evolved. Research gave way to production. Innovation became craftsmanship. The facility developed into a thriving commercial koi farm, producing exceptional koi for customers across North America while preserving the infrastructure and purpose on which it was founded.

Today, for only the third time in its history, stewardship of this extraordinary property is available.
