We opened our retail showroom 3 DAYS a week beginning January 2016
By consumer demand in April 2016 we increased our hours open to 5 days a week.
We decided we are not going to be here all of our life and are currently open 37 hours a week in the store and 8 hours each week doing the cleaning/service route. (We could easily sub this out but it is so simple, FUN and profitable we keep doing it.
We have a dealership contract that grants a selling zone from NC to GA - from Coast inland to I-95 including Myrtle Beach SC and Savannah GA as well as all land in between)
We also have the largest per unit discount available for dealers in the country and have won 2 major dealer awards!
This business can be operated by 2 people plus the sub contractors we have in place. (one person can even be part time). We have a new arrangement with an independent crew able and willing to handle repair calls, service calls, cleanings and maintenance and give us HALF their profit on the deals we send them!
We sell a product that is unique and better than all the competition in the area (at greater margin).
Our overhead is so low - we can easily survive a multi year market downturn. World based companies such as Bosch, Boeing, BMW in addition to defense contractors surround our area of operations. These type of mid level employees and management will still purchase during a downturn (I know this because I interviewed 19 dealers during the last Manufacturers dealer meeting and learned how they weathered the economy from 2007-2009 (This business model is built to weather a market down turn).
I believe we have built a phenomenal business that can easily attain 700k annually from its current location with an actual sales person that gets peoples info and follows up with them with targeted marketing practices such as post cards and such. (something we have no motivation to do)
We are retired military and would rather do service part time, travel and not be involved in retail.
