Business Description
Well-established marine electrical service company serving the San Diego County boating market since 2003. The business diagnoses, repairs, upgrades, and installs electrical and power systems on recreational and commercial vessels, including inverters and chargers, battery banks, shore power, generators, wiring and distribution, and marine electronics integration. It is the shop other trades call when a problem cannot be found, and it holds a factory-authorized service partnership with a major marine power systems manufacturer carrying territory rights across the entire state of California and all of Mexico.

Revenue reached $549,237 in 2025, up 21% over the prior year, with seller's discretionary earnings of $163,750. Revenue through May 15, 2026 was $301,199. The customer base is exceptionally well diversified: 185 customers served in 2025, the largest representing just 6.0% of sales and the top ten only 33.4%, supported by a database of roughly 1,300 contacts. Deposits are required on nearly all work, bad debt runs under 1%, and receivables at year end were minimal. The operation is lean and simple to run: four people including the owner, two service vans, tools and diagnostic equipment, and a 300 square foot leased office at roughly $1,300 per month.

Plenty of upside. There is no paid advertising, no website campaign, and no salesperson. Every job arrives by reputation and referral, and the company is booked roughly two months out and turning work away for lack of technician capacity, not lack of demand. The factory territory rights cover an enormous geography that has never been worked, and new equipment sales under that authorization have not yet been pursued. A buyer who adds technicians and supervisory capacity will convert demand that already exists. The owner is retiring and is committed to an extended transition, including training and full introductions to vendors and customers. No contractor's license transfers with this sale, so there is no qualifying-party or license contingency to clear at closing. Offered on a cash-free, debt-free basis.

Facilities & Assets
Facilities: Leased & mo-to-mo. No shop or yard is required; the business is entirely mobile, with technicians dispatching to vessels at customer berths.

Included in the sale: service vehicles, hand tools, test equipment and diagnostic instruments (under $5,000 to replace), parts and materials inventory on hand at close, the customer database of roughly 1,300 contacts plus job and service history, business name, phone number, brand and goodwill, and vendor and manufacturer accounts subject to counterparty consent.
Market Outlook / Competition
San Diego is a compact, high-density boating market where reputation travels fast and qualified technicians are scarce. The work is largely non-deferrable: a failed inverter, charger or shore-power system takes the vessel out of service. It also resists do-it-yourself work which is why nearly all owners will call in specialist for electrical work on both maintenance and installation.

Transition Support
The owner is retiring and expects to stay on as a consultant after closing. He has not put a short limit on it. Duration, structure and compensation are negotiable.

Transition includes introductions to the referral network of boatyards, marinas and builders, plus suppliers and manufacturers; an introduction to the systems manufacturer and support in transferring the service-partner authorization to the buyer's entity, subject to that manufacturer's consent; continued participation in technician training during the transition; escalation support on complex diagnostics; and transfer of the QuickBooks Online file, customer database, estimating history and job records.

There is no trade school for marine electrical work, so the company trains its own technicians. Instruction runs one to two times a week against the actual problems technicians hit in the field, supplemented by manufacturer webinars and industry reference material.
