- Due to increased heat during the summer months, our business cycle considered a "seasonal" environment, which consists of HIGH SEASON; October - May and LOW Season: June-September. Economic factors and the high cost of housing in the coastal regions of California, have resulted in more people relocaring to the area and more year-round residents. Additionall, many of our seasonal residents are letting go of their primary residences elsewhere around the country and their vacation homess her are becoming their primary year-round residences. One of our only remaining direct "competitors" in the area, just closed shop, due to health issues, which will only help to establish our business as the go-to place in the area for Tabletop, Gourmet Packaged Foods, Giftware, Barware, Kitchen/Table Linens & Home Furnishings and Home Decor.
- Opportunities for Growth
- We aren't what one would consider technologically advanced. While we created a web site, with e-commerce functionality, it required more time and technological knowledge and experience than we had, to keep up with the pricing and product turnover, so we let it go dormant. That is certainly one area in which someone with the energy and technical experience/expertise could expand and reach our rather sizable customer base, beyond our physical location.
Because there are more people moving to the desert and new communities springing up all the time in the area, the prospects for a successful, well-established business to grow and expand here are quite good!!
We have operated from 10:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Saturday, closed on Sundays. However, with more people living in the area year-round, by extending the hours of operation and opening on Sundays, one could conceivably increase sales and revenue. Other business in the area stay open later and are open 7 days a week.
