Design that Communicates Earns AccoladesLas Vegas, NV (May 1, 2011)
The Sign Biz Vehicle Wrap Awards (VEWAs) , the countrys only nationwide competition celebrating the accomplishments of the Sign Biz Networks most successful digital sign designers and installers, has just announced this years award winners for most successful company-branded vehicle wraps.
This years Vehicle Wrap competition generated numerous entries, judged on the following:
Branding Impact, Creative Design, and Difficulty. Justin and Michael Seibert, owners of The Sign Brothers, Athens, GA, received the most votes of those in attendance at MOMENTUM 2011, this years International Convention for the Sign Biz Network, hosted in Las Vegas, NV to win Best Overall Branding Wrap.
The VEWA was presented at the Luxor Hotel & Casino, on May 1st, at Sundays closing session. Michael adds, "I am very excited this entry won, and didnt even realize that my brother had submitted it!"
The trailer, fully wrapped in a freshly designed full-color advertising motif, took 7 man-hours to complete. The designer, 25-year-old Kenny Wuerstlin, has been an employee of The Sign Brothers for two-and-a-half years, and completed this wrap early last year. It was installed by Michael Seibert , who now employs a team of vehicle wrap installations.
In reference to the winning design, Michael adds, "The client gave us full rein on the design, and said we trust you guys. Kenny is a talented designer who came up with the concept, and the client was thrilled! The Dock Dogs competitions take place throughout the Southeast, and in Georgia this is a very big deal. The clients, Dixie Dock Dogs, have a huge following, and four retrievers of their own. Whenever they are featured on television, they stand in front of this trailer. So the brand mileage really exceeds what they could get in any other media."
Best in the Company Branded Vehicle category was Psychedelic Wrap submitted by McEver Signs and Graphics, Dawsonville, GA. This wrap earned top votes for creating a vibrant impression of the company. The owner of this Sign Biz Network enterprise, Carter McEver explains, One of the things that I tell people is that we saw an increase in sales in the first two weeks which covered the cost of the wrap. So the wrap paid for itself in two weeks time!
I now get instant recognition wherever I go. People tell me "I did not know you serviced "Gainesville" or Dahlonega" (referring to the outer regions of my area) but now they recognize my truck and even if I only make two impressions per person it seems like they see me allot due to the originality of the truck. Its memorable."
The "Psychedelic" wrap took 8 hours to complete, and was designed by graphic artist Seth Campbell, who has been a designer in this region for over three years now.
Teresa M. Young, President of Sign Biz, Inc., the promoter of the competition, adds, "In the marketing communications landscape, a vehicle wrap is more than a graphic. It provides unique, compelling visual impact that enhances the power and ROI of a brand story.
And this year, vehicle advertising has gained great momentum! The success and interest in our Vehicle Wrap Makeover competition has been so great that we will run another competition like this next year." About Vehicle Graphics
The American Trucking Association says that 91 percent of people notice graphics on vehicles and 75 percent develop a favorable impression of the companies represented.
