Why Jersey Mike's Submarines & Salads?
Jersey Mike’s says that its model gives owners the opportunity to lead balanced lives and to give back to community causes. In fact, each grand opening event supports a charity in the community.
Owners of traditional restaurants have a designated (exclusive) territory that is generally a radius of 0.5 miles to 1 mile. That said, nontraditional locations may be found inside territory that is otherwise designated.
Jersey Mike’s prides itself on its fast and fresh approach. The customers who frequent its restaurants tend to be relatively affluent and seek higher-quality food than what they would find at a regular fast food restaurant. The sandwiches are easy to portray as portable, healthful and fresh, and many customers are return customers who love the great food and the Jersey Shore decor.
Ideal Candidate
Jersey Mike’s wants people who recognize the worth of a proven system and who care deeply about their communities. Ideal candidates are positive, competitive, friendly and confident. Restaurant experience can be helpful but is not required. Current owners hail from all walks of life, and many are former customers and employees.
Training is extensive, more so than what many other franchises require. Thus, ideal candidates should also be able and willing to undergo eight to ten weeks of in-store and classroom training, some of it in Point Pleasant, New Jersey.
