I’m Libby Shields, founder of World Travel For Singles—a travel network created especially for solo travelers aged 50 and beyond. With over 37 years of experience in the travel industry, I launched this community in 1995 to solve a challenge I knew all too well: the joy of travel dimmed by the reality of going it alone.

As a solo traveler myself, I often found it difficult to find trips that offered not just adventure, but real connection. That’s why I set out to create something different—fun, safe, welcoming group experiences designed for people who love to explore the world and meet like-minded companions along the way

Since then, World Travel For Singles has been organizing memorable cruises and tours for singles across the U.S., while also partnering with travel agencies who share our vision. Our trips attract curious, vibrant travelers who are ready to see the world—and while romance isn’t the focus, we’ve certainly seen friendships and even a few love stories unfold.
