Introduction

Gregory Carafello, CFE, is President and Principal Broker for First Choice Business Brokers of New York City. A franchising industry veteran, Carafello has extensive experience as a master franchisee for several additional leading brands, and currently serves as the first Area Representative for FastSigns, Inc – representing the 5 boroughs of New York City, Master Franchisee for Cartridge World with over 80 stores in eight states and 18 Liberty Tax's in Manhattan. He began his career more than 37 years ago at Canon as a copier sales trainee, and rose through the ranks to become their youngest branch director at the age of 26. He and his wife went on to found their own company, AbraCadabra Color Copy Centers, which he sold after nearly two decades in business to focus on his franchising endeavors. Mr. Carafello is also a Certified Franchise Executive – the ICFE program certifies the highest standards of quality and training for those who complete the certification program. The now global CFE program is administered by the Institute of Certified Franchise Executives (ICFE), whose mission is to enhance the professionalism of franchising by certifying the highest standards of quality training and education. Greg resides in North Jersey with his wife Christine where they raised 4 children.

Our Services: We provide a comprehensive, personal, and professional service to our clients, from start to finish, in order to sell your business confidentially, at the highest price, as quickly and efficiently as possible. These services include:

Marketing: We do a comprehensive market evaluation of your business using various metrics including but not limited to your past, current and future projected financial position, your business sector, your client mix, your operations profile and your asset mix. Using a combination of these factors we produce a fair market value evaluation using proprietary analysis tools and industry proven and accepted practices.

Interviewing: Using the evaluation data, we develop a comprehensive marketing plan to attract potential buyers from our network of buyer investors as well as a global system to solicit new buyers. Once a potential buyer is identified, they are screened for financial capability and industry experience through a series of interviews. If the potential buyer fulfils the requirements and they are approved by the seller, they execute a series of documents protecting the confidentiality of the seller’s strategic business information.

Negotiating: A qualified and approved buyer is then introduced to the seller to begin negotiations. All negotiations are managed with First Choice’s comprehensive documentation and agreements. The agent facilitates all phases of the negotiations until an agreement is reached.

Coordination and Close: The agreement is clearly and concisely documented and additional paperwork is developed to facilitate and manage a successful transaction. First Choice facilitates all minute details of the deal to assure a successful and smooth transition.

    2014 – Present: 9-11 Museum Docent. Thoroughly trained for 5 months to be a Volunteer Docent for the new 9-11 Museum. He was part of the first ever Docent team providing education and tours of the artifacts of the 9-11 Museum since the 1st day it ever opened. He volunteers 20 hours per month at the Museum

    2012- Present: 9-11 Memorial Volunteer Service Member. He volunteers 20 hours per month to help do tours to individuals, groups or where needed.

    2009- Master Franchisee of the year for Cartridge World Globally. Annual nomination as the Best Master Worldwide for day to day practices and system support and growth.

    2008 –present- Nominated to Cartridge World’s Master Advisory Committee for North America, today known as the MAC- Master Advisory Committee.     Greg has regrouped successfully growing Cartridge World in New Jersey and New York, Maryland, Virginia and DC via coaching, supporting, and driving Franchisees to success; which has always been a goal of Greg’s. He has full intentions of reentering the World Trade Centers as a tenant again as his new headquarters for the Cartridge World and Liberty Tax Service systems he owns.
