Established CPA firm with a book of tax clients for sale in North San Diego County, CA. The Seller is looking to reduce their workload by transferring all of the tax work from their existing firm. The Seller is retaining the accounting service income, which represents the majority of the firm’s business operations. The Seller will provide a non-solicitation/non-compete agreement and does not plan to take on new tax business after the sale.

The firm is currently operated from Carlsbad, CA, and the clients can be relocated within North San Diego County, preferably within a reasonable distance of the current location in Carlsbad. Approximately 76% of clients electronically remit their documents, 12% mail, 10% prefer to drop off, and 2% come in for an appointment. Although the firm is primarily operated remotely, the Buyer should maintain a North San Diego County location or drop-off option to accommodate the limited number of in-person and drop-off clients and support client retention. The Seller is available to provide transition assistance after the sale.

This opportunity is well suited for a CPA with a background in tax, or an EA with extensive tax & accounting experience, seeking to expand in the North San Diego County region. There is no staff associated with the clients being sold. The Seller will be available as needed to assist with transition, client introductions, and continuity after closing, but does not want to continue preparing tax returns .

Gross revenue is anticipated to be approximately $260,000, including individual returns, entity returns, PTE calculations, and other tax-related services. The client base includes approximately 142 individual 1040 clients with an average fee of $718, approximately 84 entity tax returns with an average fee of approximately $1,435, and additional tax services revenue from PTE calculations. PTE calculations are billed separately and are expected to apply to a significant majority of entity clients.
