Business Description
King is a fast growing business that needs a proper owner-operator to take it to the next level. It has benefited from the DC eBike Incentive Program which provides direct cash benefits ($1,500) to residents to help them buy ebikes. We have specialized in selling entry-level to mid-level ebikes from trusted brands like Aventon, Velotric, Segway, and Lectric. We also sell electric scooters from NIU, Segway/Ninebot, and VMax. Because of our location near the National Mall, we've had plenty of demand for rentals, especially e-cargo bikes, which are family friendly. We have 1 full time technician with over 8 years experience, and could support at least 1 additional.

This business is a great opportunity for an owner-operator to take over the business with no cash outlay, just the assumption of our current debt. We have an SBA loan for ~$130K and a short term inventory loan for ~$50K. Since the ownership doesn't take any shifts at the store, there is an opportunity to take over 2 of the employees and have a comfortable salary of $70 - $80K/yr.

The seller is willing to sell it cleanly, or is open to offers of partnerships with an equity split and a sharing of the debt. What is most important to the owner is a new person coming in and managing the operations full time. We're looking to move quickly, so please reach out if you are interested.

OPPORTUNITIES:
- there is no dedicated electric bike and scooter repair facility in DC, so there is a ton of organic demand for these services
- mobile repair - as we sell larger ebikes, people want mobile service so they don't need to lug broken bikes to us
- we've had a lot of success with selling lightly used bikes from our rental fleet. It allows us to price bikes lower than people will find online, but buyers feel good about it because they come with a warranty and a local service option
- we've been so focused on the DC Incentive Program, we haven't been able to invest heavily in a rental fleet, and the subsequent marketing, but the demand is heavy, particularly for specialty ebikes that can't be rented via the ebikeshare options (bucket bikes, long tail bikes, nice mountain bikes)

Facilities & Assets
The business includes a retail lease in the Columbia Plaza apartment complex near the National Mall. The business faces 23rd St, a couple blocks up rom the Lincoln Memorial. We have a fully built out repair facility that includes all the equipment and tools for any kind of service. Our space is split with a complementary business called Whizz, which does e-bikes for delivery riders. This keeps our lease costs low.

Market Outlook / Competition
King Electric is the only fully electric bike and scooter store in DC. We specialize in large electric cargo bikes. The market for sales has been strong, especially with the DC E-Bike Incentive Program giving $500K to District residents to help buy ebikes. Competitors include Contes Bikes, Daily Rider, Trek, Strictly EBikes (Alexandria).
Opportunities for Growth
There is a huge opportunity in rental ebikes and cargo bikes for visitors on the National Mall. We've been focused on sales because of the DC eBike Incentive Program, which has limited our rentals. Growth in sales will come with new brands brought in (higher end bikes like Tern and European brands like Van Moof). The store can support another technician as well.
