Introduction
Entrepreneurship has always been part of my DNA. At 10 years old, I
turned a single paper route into four through my first “acquisition.”
That early taste of growth and ownership sparked a lifelong
passion for helping businesses start, scale, and succeed.
After those entrepreneurial beginnings, I spent the next 30 years in
banking and small business lending, where I discovered my true
niche in SBA lending. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of
helping countless entrepreneurs secure the financing they needed
to expand, hire, and thrive. SBA programs have been game
changers for small businesses, and I’ve taken pride in guiding
owners through the complexities of lending so they could focus on
growth.
As my career evolved, I saw an opportunity to serve entrepreneurs
in another critical stage of their journey—the transition out of their
businesses. That led me to become a Certified Exit Planning Advisor
(CEPA), combining my expertise in small business growth with my
commitment to helping owners plan successful exits. My goal is
simple: to help business owners “harvest the profits after a lifetime
of planting.” Whether it’s preparing the company for sale,
identifying the right buyer, or navigating the details of the
transaction, I walk alongside owners through one of the most
important decisions of their lives.
What drives me is a deep belief that small businesses are the

He earned his B.S. degree in accounting from Kansas State University while on a baseball scholarship and received his M.B.A. in finance from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Jay most recently owned a franchise of a leading promotional marketing company, Adventures in Advertising. Jay held accounting/treasury positions with Health Midwest and Metmor Financial.
